I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2009, and my condition became so aggressive that my colon perforated following a colonoscopy in 2010. I had emergency surgery which saved my life and resulted in me having two stomas; an ileostomy and mucous fistula. Since then, I've become a patient advocate and a blogger, as well as making videos on YouTube about IBD and life after ostomy surgery.
