April is stress awareness month. Now, perhaps more than usual, many of us are under increased stress due to events out of our control and changing daily routines but managing and reducing stress is a very important part of helping to manage our IBD. Increased stress can hugely reduce our quality of life, exacerbate symptoms of IBD, even when in remission, and can trigger flares. Luckily there are lots of things we can do to help reduce, manage and counteract stress, and to build our resilience longer term.
