A group of independent specialist gastroenterology dietitians are offering free 30 minute consultations to provide evidence-based advice and guidance for 60 people with gut-related conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease. Consultations are for the individual to shape as they wish.
The initiative is being organised by Symprove and aims to break down the barriers to accessing qualified healthcare professionals to ensure people are given the support they need to help manage their symptoms and the opportunity to discuss any specific issues or worries they may have.
Dr Samantha Gill, Specialist Gastroenterology Dietitian and Scientific Research and Development Manager at Symprove, said: “So many people struggle with gut symptoms and gut-related disorders, yet accessing qualified healthcare professionals for support, guidance and advice can often be limited.”
“In addition, there are a lot of misconceptions and misinformation in the public domain meaning it can be challenging to know which messages to listen to and how to separate those which are evidence-based to those which are not. At a time when research and interest into the gut continues to grow exponentially, breaking down these barriers has never been more important.”
“This is why Symprove are offering 60 30-minute consultations with independent specialist gastroenterology dietitians week beginning the 12th July 2021, allowing the invaluable opportunity to talk through all things gut and to help equip people with the tools needed to manage their gut health.”
